Panthera leo
The king of the jungle, the African lion is Africa's largest felid. It lives in social groups called packs and is a top predator.
Loxodonta africana
The largest land animal, the African elephant can weigh up to 6 tons. It is known for its extraordinary intelligence and memory.
Giraffa camelopardalis
The tallest land animal, the giraffe can reach 5.5 meters in height. Its 18-inch tongue allows it to feed from tall trees.
Say bicornis
A critically endangered species, the black rhino is heavily protected in the reserve. Its horn is made of keratin, like human fingernails.
Panthera pardus
The most elusive of the big cats, the leopard is an expert nocturnal hunter. It stores its prey in trees for protection.
